Job summary

State of Indiana’s Department of Child Services seeks a Family Case Manager to support children and families across Henry County and surrounding areas. You will protect children from abuse/neglect, maintain or reunify families when possible, and help secure a permanent home or independent living for children unable to reunite with relatives.

The role is based in New Castle, IN, with a salary starting around $47,320 and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of social work, casework, sociology and counseling theories.
• Ability to investigate and interview alleged victims and suspects.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate reports.
• Ability to work with diverse families and children.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported child abuse/neglect and advise disposition.
• Assess risk to child and determine need for removal or protection.
• Develop case plans to help families achieve self-sufficiency and permanent homes.
• Prepare reports and testimony for court and maintain case files.
• Coordinate reunification, adoption, or independent living efforts.
