Job summary

River Oak Center for Children, Inc. seeks a Family Advocate for its Flexible Integrated Treatment (FIT) program in Elk Grove.

The role focuses on supporting families, advocating for parents and guardians, and connecting them with services across home, school, and community settings. Responsibilities include client advocacy, home visits, resource identification, documentation, and meeting billing productivity goals.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed twelfth grade (or the equivalent of completing twelfth grade).
• PLUS at least one (1) year of responsible work experience.
• PLUS have lived experience as a parent, guardian, or foster parent of youth who is receiving or has received services from a county system of care (such as county mental health, child welfare, special education, probation systems, etc.).
• Maintain strong communication, networking, and organizational skills; proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients, parents, and family; attend meetings with parents/family to provide support and inform them of rights and options.
• Perform home and office visits to build relationships, empower families to meet goals, and review outcomes.
• Identify resources and assist families in locating and utilizing community and agency resources; coordinate logistics.
• Provide information on basic living skills; model appropriate behaviors; supply educational materials.
• Prepare thorough documentation and maintain accurate records in a timely manner.
• Meet productivity goals and actively generate billing activities.
• Provide case management support; monitor documentation deadlines; assist in case file review for compliance.
• Communicate with individuals who may be distressed in an effective, non-threatening manner.
