Job summary

Hunter Roberts Construction Group in New York is offering internship opportunities within the NY Operations unit for students who excel academically and are keen to learn the construction industry. The program runs Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with dates September 7 through December 18, and pays $20.00 per hour.

Interns report to the Chief Purchasing Manager or assigned mentor and will help Purchasing Agents with subcontractor prequalification, compile Subcontracts, create bidder

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with sophomore or junior status.
• Majors: construction management, engineering, or related.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist Purchasing Agents with prequalification of subcontractors via TradeTapp.
• Assist in compiling subcontract documents.
• Create bidder lists and ensure trades are covered.
• Solicit trade bids and level them.
• Arrange meetings between subcontractors and Purchasing/Operations teams.

Role Description

Hunter Roberts has internship opportunities available within the NY Operations unit for individuals with a track record of academic success and a deep interest in the industry. Hunter Roberts has several Intern opportunities available in the Purchasing Department.

The hours are Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm.

Dates: September 7th - December 18th

Listed below are job functions you may be asked to complete as an intern at Hunter Roberts.

Intern reports to: Chief Purchasing Manager or Assigned Mentor

Responsibilities:

• Assist Purchasing Agents and Assistant Purchasing Agents with prequalification of Subcontractors through use of TradeTapp prequalification website.
• Assist Purchasing Agents and Assistant Purchasing Agents with compiling Subcontracts.
• Assist Purchasing Agents and Assistant Purchasing Agents with creating Bidders lists for projects and following up to ensure proper coverage in all trades.
• Assist PA's & APA's in soliciting trade bids and leveling them.
• Arranging and coordinating meetings between Subcontractors and Purchasing/Operations team

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate College or University with a sophomore status or junior status
• Must be a construction management, engineering or related major
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word
• Ability to work as a team member and to manage competing priorities in fast paced environment.
• ****Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
