Job summary

Chess Wizards in Arlington, MA is seeking instructors to lead engaging chess classes for elementary students. The role offers flexible scheduling with 1–5 weekday afternoon classes, travel between local schools, and full training.

You bring experience with kids, a positive attitude, and a love for chess. Competitive pay per class, mileage reimbursement over 15 miles one-way, and opportunities to advance within the program are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, friendly, and fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain moves and basic tactics to kids in age-appropriate terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using our structured curriculum.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
