Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking instructors to lead engaging chess classes for elementary students in Adamstown, MD. This fall session role involves teaching 10–15 kids with a structured curriculum and a focus on sportsmanship.

Classes are scheduled weekday afternoons, with 2:00 PM–5:00 PM windows, and instructors may travel to various local schools. Competitive pay and mileage reimbursement are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently with engaging sessions.
• Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship.
• Strong chess fundamentals: explain moves, basic strategy, and simple tactics to kids.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using our structured curriculum.
• Manage a lively, positive classroom and keep students engaged.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrivals, dismissals, and activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
