NIA Community Services Network, Inc. is seeking a Fall After-School Sports Instructor to plan and lead structured activities in a sports specialty for elementary participants. You will work with a Group Leader to ensure safe, engaging sessions after school in Brooklyn, NY.

The role is part-time, Monday–Friday afternoons, with emphasis on behavior management and activity prep. Prior teaching or group activity experience is required or preferred; bilingual abilities are encouraged.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of prior experience teaching or facilitating group activities with students.
• High school diploma required.
• College coursework in the areas of education, youth development is expected.
• Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
• Elementary Education: 1 year (Preferred).
• Instructor: 1 year (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead structured activities in a particular specialty area.
• Lead with Group Leader and manage behavior and classroom maintenance.
• Submit lesson plans for each activity by due date and conduct per approved plans.
• Submit NIA material requests for supervisor approval.
• Include Group Leader in activity plan, including management and prep.
• Plan culminating activity to be showcased at program event.
• Perform assigned activity, transitions, snack period, and dismissal.
• Use positive behavior management with the group at all times.
• Maintain group organization and manage the group effectively.

Activities will be led with the assistance of a Group Leader or fellow staff member.
