Job summary

Franklin Electric invites a motivated student to join our Fall 2027 Electrical/Software Engineering Co‑op in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You will work with our engineering teams on real projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, testing, and process improvement.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional partners, analyze data, document results, and contribute to safe, reliable, and cost-efficient product development. This program emphasizes learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
Completion of foundational engineering coursework appropriate to the assignment is required.
Previous internship or co‑op experience preferred but not required.
Must meet the eligibility requirements of the participating college or university co‑op program, when applicable.
Experience with CAD, engineering analysis, data acquisition, or programming preferred.
Ability to learn Franklin Electric systems and engineering tools.

Responsibilities

Assist engineers with design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of products, systems, manufacturing processes, and tooling.
Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering, test, and process data to support product validation, problem-solving, and decision‑making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sourcing, to support project execution and deliverables.
Prepare technical documentation, present project results, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives throughout the co‑op assignment.
