Job summary

Schneider Electric in El Paso, TX invites aspiring manufacturing engineers to join as a Fall 2026 Manufacturing Engineering Intern on the shop floor. You’ll work with experienced engineers to improve processes, apply lean techniques, and gain hands-on skills in production efficiency.

You will support time studies, 5S events, documentation, and layout work using SAP, AutoCAD, and Creo Viewer, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvements and safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Attention to detail and adherence to processes.
• Willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Collaborative with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SAP, or similar software is a plus.
• Proactive and able to take initiative with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support improvement initiatives via time studies and production flow analysis.
• Participate in meetings and follow up on actions.
• Assist with 5S events, Kaizen Blitz, and other lean activities.
• Assist with process documentation and work instructions.
• Partner with safety teams to identify ergonomic improvements.
• Support planning, tracking, and execution of projects.
• Use SAP Engineering BOM, OE, and 3D Creo/AutoCAD for layout changes.
• Contribute to capacity planning and workflow optimization.
