Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, TX, is offering a Fall 2026 Field Engineering Intern role to support manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of our microreactor projects. The 12–16 week program provides daily mentorship on the shop floor and field operations experience in a fast-growing energy startup.

Your work will include travel on-site, collaboration with engineers, and hands-on involvement with tools and equipment as we advance Aalo-0 and Aalo-X projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods while wearing PPE.
• Willingness to work on-site in Austin, TX for 12–16 weeks and travel as needed.

About the role

Join our Field Operations team in Austin as we support the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of all Aalo projects. Over a 12- to 16- week term you will work with multiple other teams to support the upcoming Aalo-0 and Aalo-X projects while gaining daily mentorship on the shop- floor as well as field operations experience.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Growth mindset and positive attitude
• Completed Bachelors in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
• Air travel compliant form of ID and valid Driver's License.
• Physically fit for duty - capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods of time while wearing PPE.
• Able to work full-time, on-site in AustinTX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• Able to Travel (at Aalo's expense) to out of state locations in the continental U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.
• Must provide own housing and daily transportation to the Austin facility; on-site parking is available.
• Some tasks involve standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25lbs while wearing PPE.
• Basic familiarity with powered and manual tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• GPA of 3.4+.
• Hands-on engineering experience (course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds).
• Hands on experience with power tools and heavy equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technicians in a fast-paced shop environment.
