Job summary

St. John's University invites applications for Fall 2026 adjunct faculty positions in Computer Science, Mathematics and Science to teach cybersecurity and digital forensics courses on the Queens campus.

Qualifications

  • At instructor level, industry experience and college teaching experience are preferred.
  • At assistant professor level, college teaching experience is required; at associate professor level, college teaching experience is required and a doctorate is preferred; at full professor level, extensive teaching experience and a doctorate are required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute course outlines to students per syllabus.
  • Develop instructional materials (lectures, readings, assignments, exams, projects).
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
  • Be available to engage with students outside class via email, phone, web conferencing, or in person.
  • Post final grades within Provost's Office timeframe and stay available for discussion after semester ends.
  • Respond to information requests from Division Chair and CCPS Dean's Office.

The Division of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science deliversundergraduate programs in Computer Science, Cybersecurity,Information Technology, and Healthcare Informatics and graduateprograms in Computer Science, AI and Data Science and Cyber andInformation Security. Responsibilities:

The division is seeking candidates for all ranks at the adjunctlevel to teach cybersecurity and digital forensics courses face toface on the Queens campus.

  • Prepare and distribute to students a course outline inaccordance with the course syllabus.
  • Develop instructional materials (lectures, readings,assignments, exams, projects, etc.) that will achieve the learningoutcomes as stated in the course syllabus.
  • Evaluate student performance throughout the semester andprovide periodic and constructive feedback to students in areasonable amount of time.
  • Be available to engage with students outside the classroom byemail, phone, web conferencing, or face-to-face meetings.
  • Evaluate student performance and post final grades for eachstudent within the timeframe required by the Provost's Office andbe available for two weeks after the semester concludes to discussfinal grades with students by email or phone.
  • Promptly respond to requests for information before, during,and after the course as required by the Division Chair and the CCPSDean's Office.

Qualifications:

For all ranks, a master's degree in discipline or a related fieldis required. At the instructor level, relevant industry experienceand college teaching experience are preferred. At the assistantprofessor level, college teaching experience is required. At theassociate professor level, college teaching experience is required,and an earned doctorate in a related field is preferred. At thefull professor level, extensive college teaching experience, and anearned doctorate in a related field are required.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the salary rangefor this position is $1,803 to $2,215. St. John's Universityconsiders factors such as (but not limited to) scope andresponsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience,education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well asmarket and organizational considerations when extending anoffer.
