Description

The instructor will serve per course adjunct faculty for the Special Education program's course, SPED 487-01/597-01. The course is designed for candidates enrolled in the Preliminary Educational Specialist Mild/Moderate Disabilities credential program. The course includes an overview of the principles of testing, assessment, interpretation, and the use of assessment results for developing instructional programs with an emphasis on ethical and educational policy issues related to educational testing. The instructor will prepare and administer assessments and lead classroom discussions and fieldwork.

Course schedule: Tuesdays 4:45-6:45 PM, August 31–December 18, 2026.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Special Education or related field.
• 5 years experience as a mild/moderate education specialist or school psychologist in K-12 settings.
• Familiarity with online modalities.
• Experience with assessment procedures for determining eligibility or continued eligibility for special education services.
• Familiarity with formal and informal assessment instruments and techniques used in K-12 settings.

Salary

$6,480 – $10,308 dependent on qualifications. Salary range covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021.
