Job summary

EJM is seeking a Captain (PIC) based in Austin, TX. You will hold final authority for every flight under Part 135, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional owner/passenger experience. Base is KAUS with 500 hours/year and residency in the Austin area.

Strong leadership and CRM/TEM proficiency are required. Responsibilities include flight planning, weight-and-balance, and coordinating with operations while maintaining SOPs and security roles.

Qualifications

• Part 135 experience required.
• Total flight time: 3,500 hours; PIC: 2,000 hours; MEL: 1,500 hours; PIC MEL: 500 hours; Instrument: 300 hours; Jet: 500 hours.
• FAA type rating in Falcon 2000EX EASy preferred, not required.
• Location: must live in or relocate to the Austin, TX area (non-commutable).
• Pre-employment drug screening and background checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of every flight as final authority.
• Verify crewing and trip assignments meet company and regulatory requirements.
• Lead flight planning, performance calculations, and weight-and-balance for each trip.
• Use the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to mitigate risk.
• Adhere to company SOPs and coordinate with internal partners.
• Serve as Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator per company policy.
• Complete all preflight actions, including maintenance status checks and discrepancy recording.
• Oversee ground servicing (fuel, oil, oxygen) per SOPs.
• Conduct required passenger briefings and provide concierge-level customer service.
• Apply CRM and TEM in normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
• Maintain training currency and promptly report safety or compliance concerns.

About the role

As Captain (PIC), you hold final authority and responsibility for every flight operating under EJM’s Part 135 certificate. You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional owner/passenger experience while collaborating closely with your fellow crew members and EJM’s operations teams.

• Base: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS)
• Residency: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Austin area (not a commutable position)
• Aircraft: Falcon 2000EX EASy
• Schedule: Supports an established account’s flying schedule (approx. 500 hours/year)

Your mission

  • PIC Multi-Engine Land: 500 hours
  • Instrument: 300 hours
  • Jet: 500 hours
• Type rating: FAA type rating in the Falcon 2000EX EASy preferred, not required.
• Location: Must live in or relocate to the Austin, TX area (non-commutable).
• Standards: Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
