Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Newark, Ohio seeks qualified substitute teachers who demonstrate Biblical knowledge and effective teaching abilities. The ideal candidate will be an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is caring, perceptive and capable of engaging students.

Primary duties include completing substitute teacher training, delivering LifeWise lessons, maintaining a safe and organized classroom, and communicating with teachers and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Faith.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
