Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis Education Assistant position supports a lead teacher in a faith-filled elementary setting. The role includes classroom assistance, student supervision, and light office duties to help create a safe, nurturing environment aligned with Catholic values.

You will help with instructional activities, manage routines, and assist with enrollment and lunch reports while maintaining an organized space for students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Patience, kindness, and a positive attitude.
• Bilingual-Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
• Willingness to support and uphold the Catholic identity of the school.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with classroom instruction and activities.
• Support individual or small group learning under teacher guidance.
• Help maintain an organized and clean classroom environment.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and recess.
• Reinforce positive behavior and the school’s Catholic values.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
• Assist with clerical duties as needed (e.g., copying, filing).
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Answer doors and phones in a positive, professional manner.
• Update reports for enrollment, aftercare, and lunches.
• Various other administrative duties as required by school administration.
