Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a Classroom Aide in Missouri to support a safe, positive learning environment and assist the teacher with instructional activities. You will supervise students, organize materials, and help maintain a faith-centered classroom in a Catholic school setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, relevant experience with children, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Background screening and safety training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in education preferred.
• Experience with children in school, childcare, church, or related setting preferred.
• Ability to work patiently and positively with students.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Commitment to supporting the Catholic mission and values of the school.
• Successful completion of required background screening and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with daily classroom activities and routines.
• Provide individual and small-group support to students as directed by the teacher.
• Monitor and supervise students during activities, transitions, lunch, and other periods.
• Support classroom management to maintain a safe, respectful environment.
• Help prepare materials and assist with lessons and projects.
• Provide support to students based on individual learning, behavioral, or developmental needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom and materials.
• Communicate student concerns to the teacher or staff.
• Support Catholic identity and faith-based programs as appropriate.
• Follow safety procedures and confidentiality.
• Work cooperatively with staff, parents, and administrators.
