Job summary

Hume Christian Camps seeks a New England-style Food Service Assistant to help prepare and serve meals for campers and guests, creating Christ-centered dining experiences.

You will receive supplies, follow recipes, operate kitchen equipment, and maintain cleanliness while interacting with guests in a friendly atmosphere. On-site housing is available at a minimal rate, with a strong emphasis on faith and community.

Qualifications

• Commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel with others.
• Must agree with Hume’s Statement of Belief and be willing to abide by Hume’s Code of Conduct.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to comply with management in following instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming food supplies, check against order, and store items in keeping with defined food service area material storage standards.
• Prepare food, following recipes and instructions under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor or Manager. Follow food and kitchen safety protocols.
• Clean kitchen, utensils, equipment and surfaces to ensure kitchen is clean and sanitary for next food preparation time. Clean bathrooms and dining room after meals following protocols.
• Interact with guests and promote friendly, outgoing atmosphere.
• Serve as food service lead as requested and provide assigned kitchen, food preparation and food service protocols as assigned to support camp and staff.
