Pasona Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced engineer to perform failure analysis on media defects and lead root-cause investigations. You will correlate defect characteristics with media processes, apply hands-on analytical tools, and develop FA methodologies.

The role requires collaboration across Process, Evaluation, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, support for new product qualification, and clear reporting of findings and corrective actions.

Qualificações

• Bachelor-level degree in a related science or engineering field.
• 4+ years of experience in Failure Analysis, Materials Characterization, or HDD/Data Storage.
• Hands-on with SEM/EDX, AFM, FIB or related tools is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct failure analysis on media defects affecting yield and reliability.
• Perform root-cause investigations on qualification failures and customer returns.
• Correlate defect characteristics with media processes and HDD performance.
• Use characterization tools to determine failure mechanisms and develop FA methodologies.
• Work with Process, Evaluation, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on CAPA.
• Support new product qualification and technology development via defect characterization.
• Present results to technical teams and management and prepare technical reports.

Job Requirements:

• Conduct failure analysis on media defects affecting product yield, reliability, and customer quality.

• Perform systematic root cause investigations on qualification failures, manufacturing excursions, and customer returns (RTV).

• Correlate defect characteristics with media processes and HDD performance.

• Perform hands-on analysis using various characterization tools and techniques.

• Interpret physical, chemical, and surface-related defects to determine failure mechanisms.

• Develop and execute appropriate FA methodologies based on investigation needs.

• Work closely with Process, Evaluation, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to identify corrective and preventive actions.

• Support new product qualification and technology development activities through defect characterization and risk assessment.

• Present investigation results and recommendations to technical teams and management.

• Prepare technical reports summarizing findings, root causes, and improvement actions.

• Maintain failure analysis databases and contribute to best-practice development.

• Support laboratory operation, equipment qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines

• At least 4 years of related experience in Failure Analysis, Materials Characterization, Semiconductor, Data Storage, HDD, or related industries.

• Hands-on experience with several of the following analytical tools: SEM/EDX, AFM, Candela OSA, FIB, Zygo Optical Profilers will be an advantage
