Department Information

This position provides comprehensive administrative support within a dynamic, high-volume environment supporting both centralized and dedicated faculty service models. The role is responsible for managing a broad range of transactional, operational, and coordination activities, including processing requests submitted through a centralized intake system, supporting assigned faculty with day-to-day administrative needs, and assisting with lab student-related requests across multiple research environments. The position requires strong organizational skills, responsiveness, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple service streams.

This position is located in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University, and has a student body of 1,200 undergraduates, 260 graduate students, and 70 primary and 73 program faculty. In 2023 US News Graduate Program Rankings placed the department as the #1 ranked department in BME in the United States and our Undergraduate Program as the # 2 department in the United States. Job Summary

Perform and coordinate administrative and financial support activities required by assigned faculty member(s) and associated research group(s). This position will interact on a consistent basis with: assigned faculty, research group staff and sponsors. This position typically will advise and counsel: research group staff. This position will supervise: NA.

  • Job Duty 2 - Compile information, confer with appropriate staff and prepare drafts of correspondence and reports.
  • Job Duty 3 - Process check requests including support documentation. Coordinate monthly purchases statement reconciliation. Enter purchase orders through accounting system.
