Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates ( MFA ) is seeking full-time faculty members with a focus on adult cardiac surgery, specifically surgery for heart failure and mechanical assist devices, in the Division of Cardiac Surgery in the Department of Surgery. The MFA is an independent, non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University. These non-tenure track appointments, expected to start as early as July 2025, will be made at a rank of (Instructor/Assistant/Associate/Professor) and salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include performing cardiothoracic procedures, teaching residents and medical students, and developing an active research program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in cardiac surgery with certification within three years of hire. At least three to five years of experience beyond residency or fellowship is required, and applicants must be eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland.
