Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Radiologist to join our medical team. As an Cardiothoracic Radiologist, you will be responsible for interpreting and diagnosing images of the cardiothoracic region obtained through various imaging modalities such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound. Your expertise will be crucial in providing accurate and timely diagnoses to aid in the treatment and management of cardiothoracic conditions and diseases. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Image Interpretation: Utilize your expertise to interpret cardiothoracic imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound examinations to diagnose cardiothoracic conditions and diseases accurately.
2. Diagnostic Reporting: Prepare detailed and comprehensive diagnostic reports based on your interpretations of cardiothoracic imaging studies. Ensure that reports are clear, concise, and provide clinically relevant information to assist referring physicians in patient management.
3. Consultation and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings, provide consultation, and assist in developing appropriate treatment plans for patients with cardiothoracic conditions.
4. Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality assurance in interpreting cardiothoracic imaging studies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes to ensure the highest level of patient care.
5. Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements, techniques, and guidelines in cardiothoracic radiology through continuous education and participation in relevant conferences, workshops, and seminars.
6. Patient Care: Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and excellent communication skills in interactions with patients undergoing cardiothoracic imaging studies. Provide clear explanations of procedures and findings to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have.
7. Research and Academic Activities: Engage in academic and research activities related to cardiothoracic radiology. Contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field through participation in research projects, publications, and presentations.
8. Adherence to Regulatory Guidelines: Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, standards, and protocols related to cardiothoracic imaging, patient safety, and data confidentiality.
9. Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with the technical staff to ensure proper maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment used for cardiothoracic studies, ensuring optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
10. Teamwork and Professional Development: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by actively participating in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development activities. Mentor and support junior staff and residents in their training and development in cardiothoracic radiology.
11. Requirements:
MD or DO Degree required.
ABR certification (or eligibility) or equivalent and licensing (or eligibility)
Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship training required.
North Carolina Medical License or Eligible required.
