  • Meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.

Job description

Faculty – Physical Therapy Assistant (Adjunct)

Position Summary: Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking adjunct faculty for the Physical Therapy Assistant program. This part‑time faculty appointment involves teaching, laboratory assistance, and service responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the PTA Program at RCCC. The candidate must demonstrate competence in teaching and curriculum development and possess up‑to‑date knowledge and skills reflective of current practice to provide comprehensive education to students.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited PT or PTA program.
  • Licensed in North Carolina.
  • Ability to work with students with special needs based on the ADA.
  • Member of the APTA.
  • Licensed to practice in North Carolina.
Preferred
  • Master’s Degree.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Active participation in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
  • Teaching effectiveness.
  • Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology or proven ability to learn these skills.
Responsibilities
  • Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content to achieve objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student outcomes.
  • Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.
  • Communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.
  • Collaborate with the College’s support services to identify and address students’ academic support needs.
  • Utilize College technology for instruction and operational processes, including the learning management system, email and calendaring solution, document management systems, student information system, and employee portals.
  • Meet deadlines, maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.
  • When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked and equipment is in safe operating order.
  • Facilitate a positive, student‑centered, and professional environment among students, faculty, and staff.
