Position Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Clinical/Field Experience Staff works as a member of an instructional team of full-time and part-time colleagues in the PTA Department, to deliver high quality instruction to students. This position is responsible and accountable for instructing students in a laboratory environment on the FCC Campus, evaluating the student in the clinical skills, and monitoring performance goals. The PTA Program is searching for faculty with expertise in a variety of therapy skills including: Pediatrics, Neurorehabilitation, Patient Care Skills, Pulmonary Rehab, Cardiac Rehab, Work Hardening, Women’s Health, Vestibular, Chronic Pain, Orthopedics, and Amputees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply established principles, policies, and procedures consistently in accordance with assigned PTA program, and Frederick Community College.
• Provide clinical instruction and supervision of students.
• Evaluate student performance in the clinical skills.
• Maintain clinical skills within the designated area of responsibility.
• Establish weekly communication with assigned course coordinator.
• Engage students in critical thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal workplace skills.
• Infuse diverse, multicultural perspectives into the instructional process.

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Associate Degree
• Licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant
• Three (3) years of full-time work experience as a PT or PTA

Desired Qualifications

• Prior classroom teaching experience
• Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.

Work Schedule

Between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Exact hours are to be determined depending on clinical schedule.
