Job summary

Ivy Tech Hamilton County is hiring nursing faculty to provide engaging, high-quality instruction across multiple formats. The role supports student learning, retention, and completion, delivers feedback, and participates in professional development and college initiatives.

The position requires clinical nursing expertise, teaching credentials per Ivy Tech standards, and a commitment to current nursing practice and educational technology.

Qualifications

  • Three years of RN experience for full-time faculty or two years for part-time faculty.
  • Current, unencumbered Indiana RN license.
  • Master’s degree in nursing, as required for the majority of program faculty.
  • If applicant holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a written plan to complete a master’s degree within one semester and documentation each semester showing progress are required.
  • Maintain satisfactory progress under the approved academic plan as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned nursing courses using effective teaching methods and technology aligned with course objectives and program outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and student records.
  • Create a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Use the College's Learning Management System to support teaching, assessment, and communication.
  • Coach and monitor assigned students in partnership with academic advising staff.
  • Track student performance, provide timely interventions, and connect students with tutoring and other resources.
  • Maintain required office and student-engagement hours.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and program completion through direct outreach.
  • Participate in training, industry experiences, scholarly activities, and continuing education.
  • Remain current in nursing practice, teaching methods, and educational technology.
  • Build relationships with community, industry, and business partners.
  • Serve on committees, accreditation initiatives, grant projects, and other College activities.
  • Attend College, campus, department, faculty, and commencement events as assigned.
  • Support program management, career services, alumni activities, and College policies.

Ivy Tech Hamilton County is hiring both Full-Time and Adjunct Faculty in Nursing.

POSITION PURPOSE

Provide engaging, high-quality nursing instruction in multiple formats. Faculty support student learning, retention, and completion; provide timely feedback; participate in professional development and community service; and advance Ivy Tech's mission and strategic initiatives.

Essential Functions
Instruction
  • Deliver assigned courses using effective teaching methods and technology aligned with course objectives and program outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet Ivy Tech faculty credential requirements and possess working knowledge of technologies relevant to nursing instruction.

ASN Nursing Faculty Must Have
  • At least three years of Registered Nurse experience for full-time faculty or two years for part-time faculty.
  • A current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license.
  • A master's degree in nursing, as required for the majority of program faculty.

Applicants with a bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution must:

  • Establish a written plan within one semester of appointment to complete a master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Provide documentation each semester showing continued progress toward the degree.
  • Maintain satisfactory progress under the approved academic plan as a condition of continued employment.
SALARY

This is a nine-month academic-year contract. The nine-month salary at the F-2 rank is $60,000. Additional summer courses may be available based on enrollment.
