Job Description:
The ACC Marketing Department provides premier courses and degreeplans that give students the skills and knowledge needed to beprepared to enter the workforce and have the competencies needed.Our curriculum provides students with first-rate professional andworkforce programs that result in employment in the public andprivate sectors. It is based on identified competencies and strivesto be socially responsible as well as address employer needs.Marketing degrees are specifically designed for individuals whodesire to obtain employment after two years. Marketing courses arealso useful electives for students in a variety of degree programs,including many of the transfer programs.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and teach courses in the field of Marketing, includingdigital marketing, AI-powered marketing, and luxury marketing, to amulticultural student population based on the department's approvedcourse learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructionalstrategies appropriate to the needs of community college studentsand the standards of the discipline.
- Participate actively in departmental responsibilities anddepartmental governance, including curriculum review and revision,program review, assessment of student learning outcomes at thecourse and program level, and other departmental activities.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedbackreflecting program learning outcomes and departmentalexpectations.
- Serve as a mentor to students in the Marketing program.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a mannerthat does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex,sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability,age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or otherprotected categories.
- Remain current in the field, particularly in emerging areassuch as AI applications in marketing, through a variety ofprofessional development activities.
- Support division and department goals through active andcollegial engagement in decision-making and unit-levelplanning.
- Serve on collegewide and departmental committees, councils,work groups, and task forces.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the departmentchair, dean, and/or associate vice chancellor, vice chancellor,executive vice chancellor.
Technology
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, onlineresources, and other technologies for the classroom.
- Applied knowledge of current marketing technology and software,such as AI-powered marketing tools, social media managementplatforms (e.g., Hubspot, Semrush), and marketing analytics tools(e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau), with the ability to incorporateemerging tools into classroom instruction.
- Familiarity with using an online learning management systemsuch as Blackboard to develop and build course content and performadministrative duties (posting office hours, syllabi, etc.)
Principal Professional Standards
- Appropriate use of the college's learning managementsystem.
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission offinal course grades.
- Participate in graduation, general assembly, and other officialcollege functions.
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improvestudent retention and success.
- Attend and participate in college-wide, campus, department, orother activities and meetings.
Required Education
- Master's degree in Marketing or
- Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Marketing
Note: Candidates with a Master's degree including a Marketingemphasis of at least 15 graduate hours in Marketing may also beconsidered, in accordance with Southern Association of College andSchools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements. SACSCOCrequirements may differ depending on the courses taught within thediscipline.
Required Work Experience
- Three years of non-teaching, industry-related work experiencewithin the field of Marketing.

- Documented experience with active and applied teaching andlearning methodologies.
- A strong commitment to teaching in a community college setting,including teaching practices that reflect an understanding of themulticultural classroom and the benefits of cultural awareness andsensitivity in the classroom and the workplace.
