Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) seeks a full-time Internal Medicine faculty member, board-certified or board-eligible, to expand clinical services, research, and medical student and resident training.

The candidate will join the Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Medicine and contribute to a diverse community of faculty involved in education and patient care in both ambulatory and hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Involvement in medical student and resident education.
• Experience with inpatient hospital-based services and outpatient clinics.

Responsabilités

• Educate medical students and residents and participate in scholarly activities.
• Provide clinical services in Internal Medicine clinics and inpatient services.
• Participate in quality improvement, utilization review, and outcomes management.
• Collaborate with department chairs on recruitment, supervision, education, and evaluation of residents.
• Attend department and medical school meetings and provide high-quality instruction.

TheInternal Medicineresidency program has36residents and Medicine Pediatric residency program has 16 residents, andisfullyaccredited with all subspecialty care and tertiary care capabilities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• AllGeneralInternalMedicine faculty participatein the education of medical students and residents, ongoing scholarly activities, and clinical services in the Internal Medicine clinics and inpatient hospital-based serviceswhich are supported by full-time medical social workers, dieticians, and dedicated nursing staff.
• Additional responsibilities: Participating in the systems of quality improvement, utilization review, and outcomes management.
• Participating in inpatient academic internal medicine clinical service.
• Working closely with the department chairs for: Recruitment, selection, supervision, education, and evaluation of resident physicians.
• Strategic planning.
• Regular participation in department and medical school meetings.
• Providing high‑quality instruction for medical education of students and residents as determined by the department chair.
• Other duties as assigned by the department chair.
