The Division of Geriatrics at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) invites applications for a full-time, 1.0 FTE, faculty position in geriatric medicine. Applications for positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor will be considered. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience. The Division of Geriatrics is a division within the Department of Medicine, with additional clinical affiliation with Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Medical Ethics, Humanities, and Law. The faculty member will have the unique opportunity of playing a vital role in helping to shape the models of care for older people in Kalamazoo and the surrounding area. In addition, the faculty member will be expected to engage in resident and student education, and other scholarly activities. The successful candidate will also work to grow the clinical services of the division. Southwest Michigan, like many areas of the United States, is in need of geriatricians. Our community partners, Ascension Borgess Hospital and Bronson Methodist Hospital are actively enlarging their services for older patients; the members of the Division will have opportunities to explore partnerships with these in-patient settings, as well as the Geriatrics Clinic at WMed. There is also potential to start new programs in other settings, like Senior Care Partners PACE, nursing homes, and home visits. To share this posting, please use this link.
