Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in New Albany, Indiana is seeking an engineer to support the commissioning, operation, testing and maintenance of FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) and HVDC facilities, including STATCOMs, SVCs, Series Capacitors, Synchronous Condensers and energy storage systems.

You will lead on-site installation and commissioning, read electrical schematics, coordinate annual maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and collaborate with vendors to ensure reliable FACTS equipment;

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or ABET-accredited engineering technology degree.
• Minimum 2+ years of related engineering technology experience.
• Must successfully complete the PAT (Physical Abilities Test).

Responsibilities

• Commissioning, operation, testing and maintenance of FACTS and HVDC facilities.
• Lead on-site installation and commissioning of FACTS equipment.
• Read electrical schematics and vendor documentation to support operation.
• Coordinate annual FACTS maintenance work and troubleshoot faults.
• Provide on-site support and coordinate with vendors to ensure reliability.
