Job summary

The Advance Group is partnering with a growing production team in Waterville, OH to hire a Factory Worker for the Melter/Caster role on 1st shift. This position emphasizes strong attendance, attention to detail, and reliable performance in a metal manufacturing setting.

You will assist with casting, melting, grinding, deburring, inspection, and area upkeep, with opportunities for overtime and a scrap bonus based on performance. Steel-toed boots and PPE are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/background screen.
• Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

Job duties for Factory Worker

• Assist with metal casting and melting to produce high quality metal parts
• Safely loading materials into and out of an oven and pour hot metal into casts
• Operate grinding wheels to perform rough grinding
• Deburr, finish, and grind metal parts in a manufacturing environment
• Inspect finished parts and identify quality concerns or defects
• Follow production and quality standards to minimize scrap and maintain efficiency
• Work in various production and finishing areas throughout the facility
• Assist with maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Support production goals by producing quality work in a timely manner
• Work with industrial equipment and manufacturing tools in a hands-on environment

Requirements for Factory Worker

• Previous manufacturing, grinding, deburring, metal casting, or general labor experience
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to identify quality issues and follow production standards carefully
• Reliable attendance required; attendance impacts quarterly bonus eligibility
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Steel-toed boots required, extensive PPE required (face shields, aprons, gloves, etc) and will be provided when needed
• Comfortable working in areas that may be dusty, dirty, hot, and loud
• Comfortable working with grinding wheels that may shoot sparks into the air
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn required
• High School Diploma/GED

Shift for Factory Worker

• Monday-Friday
• 1st Shift: Typically 5:00am-1:30pm
• Occasional overtime until 3:30pm
• Rare Saturday overtime opportunities

Pay for Factory Worker

• $18.00/hr
• Potential flexibility based on relevant experience
• Once hired in, eligible for a scrap bonus up to $2/hr depending on scrap rate and attendance
