Job summary

Nox Metals in Detroit, MI seeks a Factory Shift Lead for the Weekend 1st Shift (Friday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM). You will lead the weekend shift, own the outcome, and ensure a clean handoff to Monday while overseeing saws, CNCs, forklifts, and material handling.

You will verify materials, follow production schedules, record data in our software, uphold safety, and drive continuous process improvements in a fast-paced metals environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a shift in a factory or metals setting.
• Strong safety adherence and PPE discipline.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate heavy equipment.
• Comfortable with digital production tracking.
• Willingness to work weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the weekend shift team and ensure a clean handoff.

• Load, measure, cut, and inspect aluminum parts.
• Run forklifts and overhead cranes.

Factory Shift Lead, Weekend 1st Shift | Nox Metals | Detroit, MI

Nox Metals is a technology company in Detroit supplying metal. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

Shift hours: Friday - Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

You will:

• Lead the weekend shift team, set the pace, own the outcome, execute a clean handoff

• Take a clean handoff from the weekday team and leave the floor ready for Monday

• Operate industrial saws, bandsaws, CNC equipment, and material handling systems

• Load, measure, cut, and inspect aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to spec

• Run forklifts and overhead cranes

• Follow cut lists and production schedules with precision

• Receive inbound material and verify against purchase orders

• Package, label, and stage outbound shipments

• Record cut data and job completions in our software systems, accurately, every time

• Always ask questions, never guess when something is unclear

• Look at every process and figure out how to make it better

• Keep the floor clean, organized, and ready for the next job

• Work safely every shift and hold your teammates to the same standard

You are:

• Knowledgeable or experienced in a factory, metals service center, bandsaws, industrial saws, CNC equipment, or skilled trades

• A natural leader, you set the standard for the shift and people follow because of how you work, not because of a title

• Committed to safety, you follow every protocol, wear your PPE, and never cut corners that put people at risk

Nice to have:
