Job summary

Amalgamated Sugar Company in Twin Falls, ID is seeking a Factory Lab Supervisor to directly supervise the factory laboratory at the Twin Falls facility. Responsibilities include process material balancing/accounting, performance reporting, budget preparation, and crew training.

You will lead a team of up to 30 hourly employees, work 12-hour rotating shifts, and focus on process analytics, quality, safety compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in laboratory operations.
• 3–5 years of personnel and/or project management/leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to communicate both orally as well as in writing.
• Significant knowledge of standard quality and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret safety information & placards.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the factory laboratory at the Twin Falls, ID facility.
• Process material balancing/accounting and performance reporting.
• Budget preparation and management.
• Crew selection and training.
• Chemical preparation, instrument maintenance and calibration, and process improvement investigation and testing.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed and provide team with necessary tools.
• Manage up to 30 hourly employees on rotating 12-hour shifts.
• Assist Operating Department with process and product quality problems and staff development.
