  • Proficiency with Excel and Office for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • CAD/3D modeling experience required.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week Jan 2027–May 2027 or Aug 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 3D digital assets and CAD models for equipment, tooling, fixtures, and work cells.
  • Support factory digital twin development by integrating assets into simulation environments.
  • Improve workflows for equipment modeling, including digital scanning and parametric modeling.
  • Collaborate with simulation and manufacturing teams on digital mockups and CAPEX projects.
  • Define PLM/digital integration workflows to standardize asset incorporation into digital twins.

We are looking for a Spring 2027 (January – May or August) Factory Digitalization Engineering Co-op as part of the Operations Leadership Development Program with our Smart Infrastructure Electrical Products division. This position is based in Grand Prairie, Texas.

This co-op will prepare you for a potential opportunity with our two-year rotational Operations Leadership Development Program and other entry-level roles upon graduation.

You’ll make an impact by:
  • Developing and maintaining 3D digital assets and CAD models for manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and work cells.
  • Supporting factory digital twin development by integrating digital assets into simulation and manufacturing environments.
  • Developing and improving workflows that streamline equipment modeling, including digital scanning and parametric modeling.
  • Collaborating with simulation and manufacturing engineering teams to support digital mockups and CAPEX projects.
  • Defining and implementing PLM and digital integration workflows to standardize how assets are incorporated into factory digital twins.
  • Testing and validating digital assets, integration methods, and defined requirements.
  • Documenting and standardizing digitalization methods, requirements, and integration frameworks while maintaining the factory knowledge base.
  • Supporting factory teams on digital modeling standards, integration requirements, and new digitalization methods.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Juniors, Seniors, and graduate students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Texas Arlington at the time of the co-op
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and documentation
  • Basic proficiency with CAD/3D modeling
  • Available to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm) from January 2027 to May 2027 or August 2027
  • Eligible candidates must have reliable transportation and be located within 50 miles of Grand Prairie, TX as this role does not provide housing or relocation support
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • This internship/co-op is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career/ Leadership Development opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to tools such as Fusion 360
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital twins, virtual factory environments, manufacturing processes, and production systems
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, factory layouts, material flow, and equipment integration
  • Exposure to discrete event simulation or digital factory tools such as Technomatix Plant Simulation
  • Understanding of data integration and the connection between physical manufacturing systems and digital environments
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across engineering and factory teams to support operational improvements
