Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Factoring Underwriter to join the team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of direct underwriting experience in the factoring industry, with proven expertise in both general factoring and transportation factoring. This role is fully remote, and candidates must be self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a virtual work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite new factoring applications across a broad range of industries.
• Analyze financial statements, aging reports, debtor creditworthiness, and business operations to assess risk and structure appropriate funding solutions.
• Conduct due diligence on clients and debtors, including filings, background checks, and verification of accounts receivable.
• Develop and present underwriting recommendations to the credit committee with detailed risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with sales, onboarding, legal, and account management teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
• Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify potential risks or deteriorating credit conditions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in factoring and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience underwriting factoring transactions (required).
• Strong experience underwriting transportation factoring and general factoring deals.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
• In-depth understanding of filings, lien priority, invoice verification, and risk management.
• Proficiency with underwriting tools, factoring software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• High level of integrity, sound judgment, and a client-focused mindset.
