Frac-Chem is a distributor of oilfield chemical products based in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Parent Company, Vinmar International has a nearly four decade history of multi-billion dollar product distribution and marketing success in the USA and in global markets in the Plastics and Chemical Distribution Industry.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the facility manager in organizing and executing tasks in the facility.
• Participating in and operating daily functions of the warehouse/facility, customer service, inventory, incoming and outgoing transport equipment, equipment requirements for having a proper activity in the facility to fulfil required activity and operations.
• Performing day-to-day functions and working of the warehouse/facility activities.
• Ensuring compliance with the warehouse/facility operating and safety procedures and all requirements regarding safety operations in the warehouse.
• Move materials from location to location in the facility and yard as instructed by, carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors or other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload trucks according to established safety and operating procedures.
• Assist preparation of shipments by staging, counting, documenting, and packaging materials for safe transport.
• Distribute received shipments by delivering materials to proper location within the facility.
• Process paperwork to record transaction.
• Assist in physically locating Customer Property materials.
• Assist team with load outs or any staging of equipment.
• Physically prepares materials for safe movement or shipment including use of banding machine, clincher, stretch film, crating or other means.
• Practices good housekeeping in assigned areas and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
• Promptly report any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment to Team Leader.
• Knowledge of safety and legal documentation processes for handling warehouse related operations.
• Knowledge and ability to handle liquid chemicals, including storage and stowage of such products.
• Transload chemicals from various recipients from Iso tanks / stackable totes / bottles including using mechanical pumps, connectors and hoses.
• Forklift Certified and having recent operating experience.
• Machine Operation experience.
• Ability to work on feet for the majority of the day.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights - such as connecting hoses to truck/trailer tops.
• Ability to lift weight of up to 50 pounds repeatedly for loading/unloading purposes.
• Liquid Chemicals operations experience including but not limited to storage, stowage, handling of liquid chemicals, transloading operations, using mechanical pumps and connection hoses.
• Ability to manage time, resolve crisis and be able to make prompt decisions when effectively and efficiently necessary.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended durations (8-12 hour shifts) on hard surfaces.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat to perform tasks such as material handling, hose connections, equipment inspection, and housekeeping.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights, including accessing tops of tanks and trailers.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis; heavier loads with team lift or mechanical assistance.
• Ability to push and pull loaded equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hoses, carts).
• Ability to perform repetitive movements including reaching, grasping, and handling materials at various heights (ground level to overhead).
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
