Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seeks a Mechanical, I&C, or Structural Engineer to join ES-LFO, supporting LANSCE facilities. You will assess, maintain and upgrade accelerator-related systems, interfacing with operations and maintenance to apply sound engineering judgment in a national mission context.

The role attaches to a mission-critical facility with opportunities to lead design reviews, mentor staff, and participate in long-range asset planning from LANL in Los Alamos, NM.

Qualifications

• Combined experience in engineering design and maintenance of facility systems, structures and components.
• Familiarity with National Codes and Standards (IBC, IEBC, ASCE, ASME, ASHRAE, NFPA).
• Knowledge of mechanical or structural engineering principles and design guides.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments, maintenance, and upgrades of facility systems.
• Lead development and review of engineering designs for new or replacement equipment.
• Interface with multiple disciplines and customers to establish design requirements, scope, schedule, and cost.
