Job summary

City of Edina at Centennial Lakes Park is seeking a Seasonal Facility Supervisor to deliver excellent customer service and supervise seasonal operations. You will coordinate events, winter operations including skating rink and rentals, and manage building rentals while keeping park buildings and grounds well-maintained.

The position is under six months with evenings and weekends required, outdoors most of the time, and includes supervision of staff and event setup.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of customer service, facility or event management experience.
• Must have MN driver’s license.
• Experience in outdoor park or facility open to the public is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for staff and patrons in the absence of full-time staff.
• Provide supervision of winter operations, scheduled events, building rentals and performances.
• Set up tables, chairs and equipment for events.
• Assist patrons, subcontractors and performers with set-up needs.
• Monitor events and rentals, ensure compliance with park rules.
• Ensure buildings and grounds are operational and safe for daily functions by performing regular walk-throughs.
• Remain visible and engaged with staff and customers.
• Provide onsite support and supervision to part-time staff.
• Complete accident and incident reports and communicate to management.
• Perform light custodial duties including cleaning floors, windows and trash cans.
• Assist with snow removal when appropriate, using a shovel and walk behind snow blower.
• Operate and troubleshoot point-of-sale as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Facility Supervisor at Centennial Lakes Park is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to all park visitors while providing leadership, support, and supervision for seasonal operations. Key responsibilities include coordinating special events, overseeing winter operations with an emphasis on the skating rink and skate rentals, managing building rentals, and maintaining park buildings and grounds.

This is a seasonal position lasting fewer than six months, with typical work hours including evenings and weekends. Work is seasonal and weather-dependent.

• Serve as the primary on-site contact person for staff and patrons in absence of full-time staff. Address questions, concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
• Provide supervision of winter operations, scheduled events, building rentals and performances.

Minimum Qualifications:

The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of customer service, facility or event management experience. Incumbents musthave a valid MN driver’s license.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working in an outdoor park or facility open to the public.

Physicaland Mental Requirements:

Physical effort requires the employee be able to lift up to 100 pounds intermittently and 25 pounds

occasionally.

Working Conditions:

Approximately 70% of the work is performed outdoors, with exposure to a varietyofweather conditions. Incumbents may work weekend, evening and holiday hours.
