Wisconsin Department of Corrections is seeking a Training Specialist to develop and deliver training within the Facility Staff Training and Support (FSTS) Program. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of training within the Department of Corrections. Responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, curriculum development, delivery and/or coordination, and evaluation of training delivered in the Facility Staff Training and Support (FSTS) Program. Responsibilities also include development, presentation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of on-going specialized staff development and training programs for DOC staff with an emphasis on staff working in facilities, both uniformed and non-uniformed.
The starting pay is between $58,739 and $96,907 per year, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 81-03. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.
