Job summary

Walmart in Dallas, TX is seeking a Facility Services General Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment, inspect and repair, manage work orders, and coordinate with contractors while upholding safety standards.

You will operate heavy machinery, follow OSHA/EPA regulations, track parts and invoices, and collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement for safe, efficient store operations.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the FMCSR, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
• Inspect, clean, and repair equipment while documenting wear, repair needs, and replacement recommendations.
• Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Order parts, track inventory, submit warranty claims, and process maintenance invoices accurately.
• Identify hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with teams to improve processes and support business priorities effectively.
