Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and fixtures at Walmart locations. You will inspect, repair, and document maintenance needs, and may lead less-experienced staff on-site while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires operating heavy machinery, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining parts inventory. Responsibilities include on-site training, budget reporting, and adherence to OSHA and EPA

Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, or fixtures following schedules and guidelines.
• Inspect, clean, and repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures; document wear and repair needs.
• Lead and supervise Technicians, assign scopes of work, and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Operate heavy machinery and test run equipment to diagnose issues; provide on-site training as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors, manage parts inventory, and document maintenance activities.
