Job summary

Walmart in Houston, TX is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine and major repairs across facilities and equipment. You will inspect, repair, and troubleshoot systems, oversee junior staff, and manage maintenance schedules, parts, and budgets while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will operate heavy machinery, coordinate with contractors, and participate in on-call rotations to support critical operations outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities and equipment.
• Inspects, cleans, repairs equipment, and documents wear and tear.
• Oversees work of less-experienced associates and defines scopes of work.
• Operates, inspects, and maintains heavy machinery and powered equipment.
• Maintains vehicles, handles parts inventory, and processes maintenance logs.
• Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours needs.
