• Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences with business administration courses.

Responsibilities

• Directs security department functions, activities and supervision of security personnel.
• Responsible for performance control activities of operations and safety sections.
• Ensures procedures, post orders, staff training, equipment and space support safety of staff, visitors, inmates and facility.
• Prepares departmental progress reports as requested by management.
• Monitors activities to meet goals and objectives.
• Oversees staff recruitment, evaluation, training and disciplinary actions.
• Assists in long-range planning and scheduling to achieve goals.
• Responds to emergencies 24/7 and coordinates community planning for inmate needs.
• Acts as top facility administrator when required.
• Performs other duties to ensure effective operation.
