GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking an Assistant Facility Administrator, Security to lead security operations and oversee the facility's safety programs. You will manage security staff, implement policies, and ensure compliance with regulations while coordinating with management and external agencies.

The role requires a decade of relevant experience, a behavioral sciences degree, and the ability to plan long-range security strategies, respond to emergencies, and supervise a diverse team,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences or related field with courses in business administration.
• At least 10 years of work experience in a correctional/detention facility at the mid-management level.
• Ability to supervise the proper administration of a correctional/detention facility and staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct security department functions and supervise security personnel.
• Directly responsible for performance control of operations and safety sections.
• Ensure procedures, post orders, training, equipment and space meet safety and security requirements.
• Prepare departmental progress reports and other miscellaneous reports.
• Review activities of operations departments to measure progress toward goals.
• Monitor staff effectiveness and conduct regular inspections for policy compliance.
• Direct the work of other employees including hiring, evaluating performance, training and discipline.
• Assist in long-range planning and scheduling to meet facility goals.
• Assist management in ensuring staff respond to emergencies.
• Support community planning for inmate needs.
• Respond to significant incidents on a 24/7 basis.
• Available to act as top facility administrator when required.
• Perform other duties to ensure effective operation.

Education
