Qualifications

• US Citizenship (authorized to work in the USA).
• BA or BS degree and at least 6 years of experience with industrial security, NISPOM, COMSEC programs, clearance processing, document control, and physical security; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior FSO title / role and named responsible party in prior role a must.
• At least six years physical, personnel and special security experience with DoD or equivalent Government agencies required with operational level experience preferred.
• At least four years’ experience handling compartmented programs.
• At least four years’ experience working in a DoD Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in security training and security inspections.
• Currently hold a minimum active TOP SECRET security clearance.
• Must have experience implementing NISPOM requirements, demonstrating experience overseeing and acting as responsible party during cleared facility construction and compliance/certification.
• Current successful completion of Facility Security Officer courses listed in job posting.
• Working knowledge of DoD personnel security policies, including clearance eligibility, access authorization, and auditing requirements.
• Experience as Facility Security Officer (FSO) with multiple locations and/or management of Deputy / Assistant FSOs preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Apple applications for documentation, tracking, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform all security operations including personnel clearance processing, tracking, education, reporting, indoctrination/brief/debrief and other administrative duties related to the FSO role.
• Achieve / maintain certification and accreditation of facilities and personnel.
• Participate in inspections and audits, ensuring full compliance with NISPOM and DoD security regulations.
• Use clearance data systems (DISS/NBIS/NISS) and other security software to manage end-to-end clearance processes.
• Maintain personnel security documentation per NISPOM and DoD policies.
• Support personnel security reporting and provide status updates to Government security leadership.
• Prepare, issue and maintain DD254s for primes and subcontracts.
• Develop and administer a comprehensive security education program.
• Oversee physical security, access control, biometrics, surveillance, and handling of classified materials.
• Oversee front desk duties including Visit Requests verification.
• Perform clearance and access control audits for DoD personnel.
• Assist with administrative security actions and record keeping.
• Track and validate clearance status and access authorizations.
• Coordinate reviews of personnel security clearances with SMO.
• Provide responsive support to SMO and subordinate commands.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with security authorities.
• Ensure security records are audit-ready and properly stored.
• Maintain relationships with government agencies.
• Delegate deputy/assistant FSO responsibilities where applicable.
