Job summary

Bridge Defense seeks a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join a mission-focused team supporting the security posture of a cleared facility operating under the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM).

The FSO will serve as the primary point of contact for all facility security matters, ensuring compliance with government security requirements while supporting personnel, physical, and information security programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years related facility/personnel security experience.
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance is required.
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM, DCSA policies, and personnel/physical security processes.
  • Hands-on experience with DISS/NBIS, e-QIP, and other government security case-management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, government customers, and DCSA representatives.
  • Must be able to work onsite full-time in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the facility’s security program in accordance with the NISPOM, DoD directives, and other applicable federal security regulations.
  • Process personnel security clearance requests, periodic reinvestigations, and in/out-processing using DISS/NBIS.
  • Manage the facility profile in NISS, including change conditionals, DD254 management, and security review activities.
  • Conduct new-hire security indoctrinations, ongoing security education and awareness training, and annual refresher briefings.
  • Maintain accountability of classified material, manage visit certifications, and coordinate visitor control for cleared visitors.
  • Participate in the Insider Threat Program as an active participant, including monitoring and reporting requirements for the personnel security discipline.
  • Conduct and document periodic self-inspections; prepare corrective action plans and support DCSA security vulnerability assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records within DISS/NBIS and other government security databases; track clearance status for the cleared workforce.
  • Coordinate with facilities and IT staff to support physical security measures (access control, alarm systems, closed areas) and safeguard classified information systems as applicable.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees, government customers, DCSA representatives, and company leadership on all security matters.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, security plans, and other required documentation.
  • Support special security programs (e.g., SCI, SAP) in coordination with a CPSO or SSO, as required.

Summary

Bridge Defense seeks a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join a mission-focused team supporting the security posture of a cleared facility operating under the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM). The FSO will serve as the primary point of contact for all facility security matters, ensuring compliance with government security requirements while supporting personnel, physical, and information security programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional early in their career to grow into progressively greater responsibility within a fast-moving defense technology company.

The FSO will manage day-to-day security operations for the facility, including personnel security processing, visitor control, security education and awareness training, and self-inspections, while working closely with the Facility Clearance (FCL) sponsor, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and company leadership.

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years related facility/personnel security experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance is required.
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM, DCSA policies, and personnel/physical security processes.
  • Hands-on experience with DISS/NBIS, e-QIP, and other government security case-management systems.

Desired Qualifications, Education, and Experience
  • Experience supporting an FCL sponsored by a defense or intelligence community customer.
  • Familiarity with SCI, SAP, or other special access program security requirements.
  • FSO Program Management Curriculum for Possessing Facilities certificate (CDSE).
  • Experience supporting Insider Threat Program requirements under the National Insider Threat Policy.
  • Experience participating in or leading insider threat working groups.
  • Experience supporting onsite DCAA Assessments.

General Factors
  • Full-time, onsite position based in Washington, D.C.
  • Depending on project requirements, may be required to work within a compressed schedule; overtime should be expected when schedules demand it.
  • Limited travel may be required.
  • No relocation.
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice.
Salary Range

$75,000 – $90,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, security clearance, geographic location, and other business considerations. Eligible employees may also receive performance-based bonuses and benefits.
