Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a security supervisor to manage a level 1b facility’s security operations and personnel. You will oversee guard assignments, enforce security policies, and ensure safety of state property.

The role requires high school diploma and six years of relevant experience with two years in supervision; a bachelor’s degree or criminal justice degree may substitute. You will complete SCDC training within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and six years of experience in correctional, security, military or police work, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Certification by the SCDC Training Academy and completion of the basic supervisory course within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, directs, and manages security staff at a level 1b facility.
• Supervises perimeter and internal security and control measures.
• Prepares, submits, and monitors required reports.
• Directs security resources for optimal safety.
• Ensures buildings and state property are secured.
• Trains, develops, and counsels staff to meet policies.
