Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections seeks a Fire Safety Inspector to protect residents and staff through inspections, drills, and hazard reporting. You will identify hazards, coordinate with facility leaders and local fire departments, and implement emergency procedures.

Two+ years of relevant experience and a high school diploma are required; preferred qualifications include firefighting, building inspections, or OSHA certifications.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in fire safety, inspections, or related duties.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Credit hours in Fire Science, Industrial Safety, or related field may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspects buildings and grounds for fire and safety hazards and reports findings.
• Investigates incidents, plans drills, and coordinates safety procedures.
• Coordinates safety activities and directs emergency response during fires or incidents.
• Monitors construction projects for compliance with safety standards and records activity.
• Performs duties independently with general administrative direction.
