Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous custodian or porter experience preferred.
• Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and industrial cleaners.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift 15–50 lbs.
• Able to climb ladders and work in a noisy, hot environment.

Responsibilities

• Service, clean, and supply all restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen sinks, floors, and drains.
• Clean, paint, and repair areas as needed.
• Monitor building security and safety after hours.
• Check electrical appliance use to prevent hazards.
• Perform routine maintenance.
• Gather and empty trash in offices and around the building.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
• Follow chemical handling procedures to avoid damage.
• Prepare cleaning solutions as specified.
• Strip, seal, finish and polish floors.
• Identify repairs and notify management.
• Requisition supplies; suggest sanitation improvements.
• Clean windows, mirrors; steam clean carpets.
• Set up for events; arrange furniture as needed.
• Clean and polish furniture; dust surfaces.
• Separate and recycle waste materials.
