Job summary

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Painter I to support the upkeep and appearance of a correctional facility in New Mexico. You will perform day-to-day painting and surface preparation on walls, doors, offices, and common areas. This hands-on role requires experience with primers, coatings, and painting tools.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with weekends off. The ideal candidate has 1+ years of painting experience and is comfortable working in a secure correctional

Qualifications

• 1+ years of commercial, industrial, residential, or facilities painting experience.
• Experience using painting supplies, primers, coatings, brushes, rollers, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques including sanding, patching, and priming.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
• Comfortable working in and around a correctional facility environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, reach overhead, and lift painting materials throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable attendance and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, prime, paint, and touch up interior and exterior facility surfaces.
• Paint walls, doors, offices, hallways, and other building areas as needed.
• Inspect surfaces and determine appropriate preparation and coating methods.
• Patch, sand, clean, and prepare surfaces prior to painting.
• Apply primers, paints, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies in safe working condition.
• Match existing paint colors and finishes when performing repair work.
• Follow facility safety procedures, security requirements, and work standards.
• Keep work areas clean and organized throughout projects.
• Report maintenance concerns or facility conditions requiring additional repairs.
• Work independently and prioritize painting assignments based on operational needs.
• Perform work in a secure correctional facility environment while maintaining professionalism and safety.
