Qualifications

• Previous painting experience required.
• Knowledge of painting and finishing techniques, and hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
• Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
• Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to a variety of interior and exterior surfaces.
• Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smooths interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering, or applying other related materials.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
• Erects scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area for painters and others.
• Determines color for new or replacement applications through consultation with customers and matches/tints paint products.
• Prepares line striping layouts for streets and parking lots according to requirements.
• Identifies and disposes of paints, stains, and hazardous materials and adheres to safety policies.
