  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and EMR systems.

FACILITY OUTPATIENT CODING AUDITOR – CODINGAID
Part Time | Remote
Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Facility OP Auditor is to audit ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and Modifier assignment and identify documentation improvement based on medical record documentation, as needed for various client projects.

Reports to:

Manager of Facility Coding & Audit Services

Accountabilities:

  • Meet client deadlines
  • Meet and exceed minimum productivity standards
  • Pass quality reviews

Essential Job Functions:
Complete the following functions in accordance with CodingAID policies:
  • Writing well written coding recommendations including coding clinics and guidelines.
  • QA internal coders and provide results directly to coder.
  • Track and monitor that auditing projects are meeting deadlines, including monthly and quarterly audits of internal coders.
  • Enter data into audit software and/or audit detail report.
  • Evaluate the overall quality of facility documentation to provide feedback to the client for education opportunities.
  • Perform internal coder quality reviews.
  • Coding recommendations to incorporate into the Executive Summary.
  • Must be able to meet the minimum productivity standards.
  • Must meet or exceed 95% accuracy rate on quality reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of audit report.
  • Enter time accurately and timely into our timekeeping system.
  • Comply with policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information which includes accessing and using protected health information only to the extent necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards related to health information and coding principles.
  • Other duties as assigned

Ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Must have one of the following current credentials, RHIT, RHIA, CPC and/or CCS
  • AHIMA ICD-10-CM.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience required abstracting ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and Modifier assignment.
  • A minimum of three years' experience performing QA on coders
  • Requires advanced technical knowledge in specific specialties as assigned.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and ability to research coding related questions.
  • Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
