Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks a dedicated facility operations specialist to support short and long-range planning, maintenance, and repair of real property assigned to command and subordinate units.

This role manages financial, supply, utilization accounting, and disposal records while coordinating with the Public Works Department for project execution. Job description

  • You will serve as a special assistant to the Chief Staff Officer for short and long range planning, maintenance, and repair of real property assigned to command, and other subordinate units and departments.
  • You will be responsible for the financial, supply, utilization accounting, flight simulator books, and disposal records for the command.
  • You will be responsible for maintenance and repair of COMVAQWINGPAC facilities and satellite support systems.
  • You will review facility work requests for content, necessity, and cost expenditures (e.g., materials, labor, etc.).
  • You will approve and submit work request to the Public Works Department for execution and ensures that funding documents are correct and timely for special COMNAVAIRPAC projects.
  • You will monitor short and long-range facilities planning to meet requirements established by Commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMNAVAIRPAC).
  • You will coordinate and direct efforts of various offices, agencies and groups to obtain timely action on accomplishment of successive phases of work, and resolves differences of opinion and conflicts in schedules.
  • You will inspect facilities and infrastructures to determine the condition of all spaces.
  • You will represent the command at all on and off-site meetings regarding facilities, physical security, and other position responsibilities.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • I am willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 40 pounds in weight.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying concepts and methods of facility operations to coordinate repair, maintenance and provide project support for facilities, industrial equipment or utility systems.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree

OR

Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
